Island Šćedro, Protected Nature Park
The islet of Šćedro is anchored along the southern coast of the island of Hvar. Protected as a Nature park, in its unspoiled beauty and with numerous hidden bays, it provides an exceptional experience for every visitor, and once you feel the charm of these quiet coves, scents from the nature, glimmering of the crystal clear sea in the summer sun, you will want to stay forever.
The bays of Šćedro have been known since ancient times as good anchorages and safe harbors and some of the most famous battles were fought in this area, such as the one between Pompeii and Caesar in 49 BC, as evidenced by numerous finds in the depths around Šćedro. An old abandoned settlement Nastane can be seen on the hill, which will delight you with picturesque stone houses and will take you back in time.
